A Jockey's Hard Life

One of my pet peeves in racing is when bookies criticize a jockey, usually after losing a bet for a bad ride, when it was a really bad trip. For those who do not know or do not differentiate between them, there is a distinct difference between the two. One is avoidable, one is not. First and foremost, there is no easy way to be a jockey. It is a hard demanding life physically, emotionally, mentally and even dieting.

There are no guarantees, no off-season, and the competition gets tougher with more success and recognition. Staying on top is as difficult or difficult as getting there. Then you have to take into account how difficult it is to control a 1200-pound beast, which can be nervous, fidgety, unpredictable and stubborn, going 35-40 mph when you weigh 110 or 115 pounds. . This is no easy task. You also have to realize that jockeys have to make split other decisions, and their decisions, in addition to the decisions of other riders, can all affect how a race is run, and ultimately the outcome.

It's easy to criticize a jockey after losing a bet. It is almost second nature. Many who do this never bother to stop and evaluate whether it was really a bad ride, bad judgment, bad racing luck, or just a bad or difficult trip.  토토 The other thing people do, and I think they do because they're betting money, is a lot of hostility in their criticism of jockeys after a really bad ride.

Considering all these riders, how difficult their job can be,Bashing and blasting is no way and only serves to isolate riders, many of whom are happy to interact with fans and bookies alike on the social media platform.

The usual inclination when a losing bet is to look for someone other than himself to blame for making the wrong choice. That's not to say that we can't and won't lose when making the right selection, and it's really a frustrating pill to swallow, but learn to swallow it in this game that you'll definitely do.

Sometimes a ride-and-travel can be a complete blow and you are cut, or forced to check, because a horse in front suddenly stops. The check may sound and be harsh, and it costs a lot of ground and speed, but was it the rider's fault? That's the difference between a bad ride and a bad trip.

When you watch a race win or lose, try and differentiate whether the horse got a good ride or a bad ride, or a good trip or a bad one. Try and identify why. I even put it in my formular notes which is invaluable. This is a tremendous help going forward and will elevate your game regardless of what level you are at.
